Extremely low mintage limit, only 1,000!! Almost as famous as the name Ferrari is its emblem, a black prancing horse on a yellow background with the letters S F which stand for Scuderia Ferrari.
In June 1923, Enzo Ferrari won a race at the Savio track in Ravenna. He was congratulated, celebrated and invited to Lord Enrico Baraccas house, a peer from the region. The son of Enrico Baracca, Francesco Baracca, was a highly decorated combat pilot in World War I. In 1916 the The Cavallino Rampante emblem was fitted on his aeroplane in honour of his service in the cavalry. In 1918, Francesco Baracca died in a plane crash; his emblem was removed and sent to his parents.
During his visit at Lord Baraccas house Enzo Ferrari was given this emblem by the mother of Francesco as a talisman. It was to bring Enzo Ferrari and his car good luck. He added the yellow background, which was the symbolic colour of his birthplace Modena, the companys domicile at that time.
