Represented on the obverse of this 5 oz. Proof coin, there is the effigy of Her Majesty Elizabeth II. The inscriptions indicating the Queen's name, the issuing year and the name of the issuing country can be seen along the rim of the coin. The stunning reverse design features the image of the German Zeppelin Airship made of genuine mother of pearl.Being the largest rigid airship ever constructed, Hindenburg was a 245-metre-long airship launched at Friedrichshafen, Germany, in March 1936. It was the first airliner to provide regularly scheduled service between Europe and North America. Unfortunately, the German Zeppelin was completely destroyed while landing at Lakehurst Naval Air Station in New Jersey, U. A on May 6, 1937. The reverse also includes the inscriptions denoting the name of this pearl coin and its face value.
