Cook Islands Ferrari The Legend GT $5 2010 Proof Silver Crown Total Mintage 999
Ferrari is but a dream for most motorcar enthusiasts. The abbreviation GTO stands for ìGran Turismo Omologato, meaning that the street model of a sports car also has the credentials of a racing car. The Ferrari 250 GTO, whose image is on the top of the coin, was built from 1962 until 1964. Several series were built, however only 39 were ever produced. The latest model of the GTO series is the 599, sporting the traditional V12-engine. The world premiere of the 599 GTO took place in April 2010. The six liter engine displacement and the concentrated power of 670 horsepower shoots this new Ferrari, in the true sense of the word, from zero to sixty miles per hour in only 3.35 seconds. Only when the red Italian reaches a speed of over 200 miles per hour, is it at its performance peak. The 599 GTO is one of the fastest models Ferrari has ever built. Once again, Ferrari limited the production of this machine to a miniscule 599 vehicles. The major role the legendary seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher has had in its development is apparent.
The coin comes with an enameled Ferrari insignia on the reverse as shown in the images, in an officially licensed and individually numbered product of Ferrari, Spa. The item "Cook Islands Ferrari The Legend GT $5 2010 Proof Silver Crown Total Mintage 999" is in sale since Sunday, October 08, 2017.
