This silver proof combines modern minting technology with the 16th-century art of hand-crafted quilling to produce a colorful and distinctive collectible. Quilling is the art of rolling narrow strips of paper into coils or scrolls, and arranging them to form elegant filigree. This second release of the Quilling Art series is produced by Coin Invest Trust for issue by the Cook Islands, struck from 1/2 Troy oz. 999 fine silver to an impressive diameter of 50mm.

Total mintage of this proof with an extraordinary hand-crafted quilling art design is limited to just 999 pieces. The reverse is engraved with a tree and an intricate scrolled border, featuring a magnificent handmade tri-colored bird perched on an extended tree branch. The obverse bears the likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley, with inscriptions "ELIZABETH II, " "COOK ISLANDS, " and 2 DOLLARS.
