Rare Hand Crafted Polynesian Fishermans Deity Tangaroa or Oramatua (Atua) from Rarotonga Island (Cook Islands) Carved from Native Hardwood. Circa: Antique; possibly 19th century or older. 9 3/8 inches (24 cm) high x 3 5/8 inches (8.5 cm) wide x 2 1/2 inches (6.4 cm) deep.

Condition; Very Good: There is the complex aged patina of an antique tropical wood figure. Description; this is an uncommon find. Traditionally they were used to bring good luck on fishing voyages.
